  • Our client utilizes the latest advancements in virtual engineering to optimize products for powertrain applications.
  • You will work with suppliers to produce the necessary components to the appropriate standard and validate the solution with broad engineering skills: digital simulation, 3D CAD engine layouts, stress analysis, bench testing and vehicle testing.
  • You will also utilize resources in supporting fields such as noise and vibration, materials science, testing, FEA/CAE, manufacturing, sales and others.

Two positions are open, one for North American and one for Asian customers. Fluency in Japanese and/or Korean would be an asset for the Asian focused position.

Responsibilities: (not limited to)

 

Design parts and assemblies for global automotive customers; communicate with customers and client liaison staff to ensure successful project delivery.

Independently evaluate, select and apply engineering methods, procedures and criteria in making design proposals and adaptations of standard platform concepts to specific applications.

Use company APQP process to execute projects.

Assist with quotations, feasibility reviews, drawing reviews, technical reports.

Prepare designs, calculations, proposal and revision to support engineering projects.

Prepare technical presentations for internal or customer use.

Investigate problems and identify root causes using appropriate methods and tools, assist manufacturing and suppliers to make improvements.

Evaluate engine/ vehicle test reports and present to customers.

High proficiency in CAD preferable SolidWorks ecosystem.

Ability and motivation to learn additional analysis software tools.

Flexible team player that is comfortable with uncertainty, takes ownership of projects and thrives in a team environment

 

Knowledge Base (not limited to)

 

  • Degree in mechanical engineering recognized by the PEO.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in automotive component design and development or similar field.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient application of principles and methods commonly employed in the engineering discipline.
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience (8D, 5 Why, DOE, etc.)
  • DVP&R and DFMEA – strong emphasis on DFMEA
  • Experience with reading, producing and checking engineering models and drawings
  • Good knowledge of vehicle powertrain technologies.
